Maintenance around the house is important and few things are more important than your electrical system. Something you can do to keep an eye on it is to turn each breaker in the main electrical panel, “off ” then back “on”. If any of them feel soft or spongy you’ll want to have them professionally checked out. A breaker that does not flip, or trip, into the off position when an over load occurs in that circuit will cause a fire,k and one that was preventable with a little maintenance.

Communication between you and your re-modeler or home builder is one of the key elements to a successful project, and you may not always be able to speak face-to-face. And let’s face it, trying to put a sample of granite through the fax just doesn’t work either. One way we’ve found successful is to set a real mail box, brought from the local hardware store, in a a secure location where we can leave communications and samples. When the mail box “flag” is up, the clients know there is a delivery for them. The next day when we see the flag is down we’ll look to see if they’ve left us any postings. The clients get a kick out of this, but more importantly, communication is maintained.

When remodeling the kitchen or laundry room you may want to change your electrical appliances to gas models: gas range or cook top, gas oven, gas clothes dryer. And this is a straight forward operation (provided you have gas coming into your home now.)

The biggest factor becomes the size (that is, the diameter) of your current gas line.

If it is under sized you will never get enough gas to your cook top to boil a pot of water efficiently. Like wise, your wet clothes will take “forever” to dry.
